"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.” –Theodore Roosevelt

Our Friend and Champion

JRCF LogoIn an average week, Jim Range accomplished more for America’s fish, wildlife and sportsmen-conservationists than many people do in a lifetime. We likely will never find again such a passionate an outdoorsman, astute a policymaker, articulate an orator or great a friend. Jim Range’s self-described “labor of love” was the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP)—an organization he co-founded and led until his untimely death in 2009. Through the TRCP, Jim channeled his passion for conservation and his firm belief that all Americans must have access to exceptional places to hunt and fish. Through his sweat, tears, time and dollars, Jim led the TRCP toward a vision for redefining the role that sportsmen play in natural resource policymaking.

While Jim’s life was cut short, his hard work and dedication to the conservation of fish and wildlife in support of our nation’s sporting traditions are entrenched in all of our lives through the TRCP.  Read more about Jim Range’s life and career.

With the TRCP’s establishment of the Jim Range Conservation Fund, we can ensure that Jim’s conservation legacy endures. Read about the TRCP’s goals for the Jim Range Conservation Fund.

Jim’s Legacy, Our Future

Jim Range FishingJim was never short on words, and he always voiced his opinion with a vocabulary and seasoning that were Jim's trademark. While his death was a shock, we can easily hear his voice offering advice on the issues we face today and bolstering our efforts to build the TRCP into a force that will exist long into the future.

The TRCP staff and board and the Jim Range Conservation Fund Leadership Council ask that you consider investing in the Jim Range Conservation Fund to ensure that Jim Range’s voice will continue to influence the way we conserve our fish and wildlife habitat. We thank you for helping us work to guarantee all Americans high-quality places to hunt and fish now and in the future.
